SEO KEYWORD TECHNIQUES FOR BEGINNERS

Guys keywords are one of the important items in SEO and I won’t waste your time by defining keywords or by giving you long lectures about what keywords are? As you guys are already into SEO, so you must have heard about what keywords are. I’ll just give you a small example about keywords. Suppose you own a website about dog adoption (for example: dog_adopt.net), if people will search for your site in the search engine, what will be the probable keywords they will be using to search your site? Obviously they won’t be using keywords like fish, cat or snake. The probable keywords will be like:

1.Adopt a Puppy

2.Adopt Dog

3.Site to Adopt a Dog

In this blog ill make things easy and short for you. I will tell you about some free keyword tools and how to use them to get the desired result. We will also discuss about how to perform keyword research and what are the best and free keyword research tools available in the internet and how to use them.

1.       KEYWORD RESEARCH

 Keyword research is done to choose appropriate keywords relevant to our website. For                               example this blog contains content about SEO tools, keywords, now you can easily guess what search strings (or keywords) will be used to search this blog. You can also try out GOOGLE KEYWORD TOOL to get relevant keywords for your website. Just visit the site and type in  appropriate keywords related to your website content, you will get a bunch of similar keywords with monthly or yearly search volume. Choose a keyword with medium search volume as there will be high competition with higher search volume keywords, so it is better to choose a keyword with medium search volume to get an easy visibility in the search engine. Always choose a keyword that fits into your websites theme. You can also use Websites Keywords Suggestion Tools to search for relevant keywords for your websites. If you will search in the internet you will get many free keyword research tools.Do not waste too much of your time in keyword research like I did. Just grab few relevant keywords for your website and move on to keyword placement.

Keyword placement means placing right keywords in the right places for example: placing keywords in websites title page is correct keyword placement. We will discuss about keyword placement later in this blog.  

  

2.       IMPORTANT KEYWORD TOOLS-

Keyword Density Checker-Once we have chosen a keyword or keywords for our websites, the next step will be to use those keywords in our websites content. Now too much use of keywords in the content may lead to keyword stuffing and there are serious penalties for keyword stuffing like search engines can ban your websites for too much keyword stuffing without giving you any prior notice. So to avoid this we will use a tool called Keyword Density Checker. Keyword Density checker checks the number of times a particular keyword appears in the website’s page. Normal density is 5-10% for major keywords and 3-5% for minor keywords. There is a website called WEBCONFS.COM which has a free density checker tool . WEBCONFS.COM has many other keyword tools to help SEO beginners to optimize their sites easily for free.

              3. KEYWORD PLACEMENT-

A.      Use of keywords in the Page Title-This is one thing which I religiously follow. As titles get displayed in the search engine, it is better to use keywords in the title of the page so that it (keyword) could get an instant visibility in the search engine.

B.      Use of keyword in the Headings-I always break my blogs into headings and sub headings, as headings separates paragraphs into different topics, it becomes easy for me to use my keywords in the headings and sub headings. One of its main advantage is that it helps me to use my keywords efficiently without any keyword stuffing. It is better to use short headings as long headings may spread on 2-3 lines, which won’t look good, so it’s better to avoid long headings if possible.
